Tim: It's time to have fun at the movies again!
Tim: We got great guests, interesting conversations, sneak peeks at the latest films, and I gotta tell you, sometimes we don't agree on everything!
Tim: It's On Cinema at the Cinema. With me, your host Tim Heidecker.
Tim: Hi everybody, my name is Tim Heidecker and you're watching another episode of On Cinema at the Cinema. It's a movie show where I have different guests on every week and we talk about the movies coming out this weekend and give you, hopefully give you some advice about what movies to see and which ones to skip. We got some exciting movies this week. I got an exciting guest. This is what I consider a special guest, not necessarily a film critic, but his name is John Aprea and he's an actor. He was on our Oscar special. I'm also joined by welcome back Ayaka. How are you, darling?
Ayaka: Good. How are you?
Tim: Ayaka and I- sorry, John, let me just introduce her and then I'll introduce you.
John: Oh, sure.
Tim: Ayaka and I, as you remember, was staying with our family earlier in the year and she has come back because she got a job. We're very proud of her. And we're actually um... uh, officially going- seeing each other. We're going out and it's been nice to have that in my life.
John: Can I- that's- Congratulations.
Tim: Thank you very much, yeah.
Ayaka: Thank you.
Tim: It's been three weeks.
John: You're a very lucky man. She's adorable.
Tim: She's very beautiful, I love her. I mean- we haven't said- I don't...
John: well that's...
Tim: I love her very much. We can talk about that later. Hopefully she doesn't, hopefully she doesn't understand me.
Tim: Anyway, John Aprea has been a movies, many movies and honored to have him here. His expert opinion on film is going to be valuable and I hope we can work together some more. I hope- I hope we, you come back again.
John Aprea: I want to do it every week.
Tim: Okay. Well, that won't be terrific. We'll see if your schedule permits. Our movie today is two movies. The World's End, directed by Edgar Wright, actors being Simon Pegg, Martin Freeman, Rosemund Pike, Nick Frost and the story is of five friends who reunite to their- to top their pub crawl from 20 years ago unwittingly become humankind's only hope for survival. I loved this movie. I thought it was very funny, very irreverent, a lot of fun. Ayaka and I saw it a couple nights ago and we just laughed and then there were scary parts. Everything you wanted is a real roller coaster, five bags of popcorn from me. John?
John: I agree. I would give it four. I liked it. I didn't like it as much as you did, I don't think. But I liked it a lot. It moved, good young actors. It had a lot of different elements, scary, funny. Good movie. Good movie.
Tim: Good good, yeah. Ayaka? Five?
Ayaka: Yes.
Tim: Yeah, five bags of popcorn fromAyaka... Right on the money. But also, I mean, you'd recommend people go see it, John, right?
John: Absolutely. I'm not saying that I took one bag of popcorn away, but four bags is good. That's- So no, it's a movie you should see.
Tim: Absolutely.
John: Absolutely.
Tim: Great.
John: But to me, five is tough. It's hard to get a five.
Tim: Well, this is a five bagger for me coming up, not to spoil anything. But The Colony directed by Jeff Renfro with cast of Lauren Fishburn, Bill Paxton and Kevin Zeggers. Uhh... okay. Forced underground by the next Ice Age, astruggling outpost of survivors must fight to prevent humanity against a threat more savage than nature. This was a great action/adventure movie, and I loved this movie so much.
John: Ayaka what did you think?
Ayaka: Me too, I loved this movie.
John: She's adorable, this girl.
Tim: I know, she's cute.
John: I did too. I- I- it's five plus. I love Fishburne anyway. I think he's one of America's greatest actors. Everybody thats's in it is good. And it's a good, good movie. That's definitely a must see.
Tim: So you're giving your five bags?
John: Absolutely.
Tim: Well, there you go. You've got a lot of great choices this week. Probably Ayaka and I are probably just going to stay in this weekend because I just set up my apartment where she's going to help me go out there and get some stuff from Ikea. Ayaka... Ayaka at Ikea.
John: That's poetic.
Ayaka: Perfect.
Tim: We have fun. And oh, so Ayaka is going to be doing, from now on, is going to be doing our popcorn classics. So, you have a choice? Let's hit Popcorn Classics.
*Popcorn Classics music*
Ayaka: This is Aireads.
Tim: Airheads, okay. Let's- John, show that one off.
ohn: Classic.
Ayaka: It's a fun rock and roll movie and you don't have to think anything. Just whatch.
Tim: You just sit back and enjoy Airheads with, who's in that again? Brendan Fraser. What do you think about this one, John? I think this was fun and kind of irreverent.
John: It's a fun movie. I haven't seen it in a long time but it's definitely worth a look.
Tim: Yeah, this has got- one of the early, Adam- you know, you wouldn't call this an Adam Sandler movie but it is Adam Sandler in it.
John: Yeah.
Tim: With Steve Buscemi and Brendan Fraser, one of my favorite actors.
John: Yup.
Tim: And Frasier and Buscemi are deadpan delights, Sandler is red-hot. Y'know? That's- what more do you need to know?
John: That kinda says it.
Tim: It's a lot of fun and uh... I gotta admit it's been a lot of fun doing this episode with you guys. First of all, having an expert on set, how cool is that?
John: Well, thank you I appreciate that.
Tim: And Ayaka is so smart and pretty and full of life.
John: That is true. And there are some directors who would not think of me as an expert.
Tim: really?
John: So that's another story.
Tim: Okay, favorite director.
John: Francis Ford Copolla.
Tim: All right guys.
John: I just met him again for his new movie, which is a ways away but I hope I'm in it.
Tim: Okay. Well that's pretty neat. And I don't know. This has been a lot of fun. It's just I had such a tough year and now I feel finally I'm coming up for air.
John: Good.
Tim: Thanks for watching.
*theme music*
Tim: This has been a great thank you.
John: Thank you. It's my pleasure. It's fun.
Tim: You kidding me? You killed it.
John: You just light up the screen.
Ayaka: Aww.
Tim: Alright, let's get something to drink.
Ayaka: Sure!
Tim: You want to hit Carrabas?
Ayaka: Yes.
